Being the change we want to see in the world. Supporting Cleveland families through community partnerships and meaningful action.
Our Mission
What is The Good Samaritan Project?
What We Do!
The Good Samaritan Project was created for the sole purpose of helping those who deserve it. We aim to support our community with a helping hand that we hope changes the trajectory of our recipients lives and encourages them, as well as, others to pay it forward.
How We Do It!
We accept donations of all kinds in order to facilitate them back into the community to those who'd benefit the most from them. We review any and all requests for GSP's support through our teams validation process.
Who We Do It For!
As you know life can be unpredictably cruel and sometimes you just need to catch a break. GSP will be that relief to the single parents just getting by, the mentally & physically disabled, veteran affairs, the hard working college kid looking for scholarship, the kind elderly neighbor down the street.
"Should they be worthy, they will possess the resources of GSP!"
Where It Started
The Good Samaritan Law
The idea for GSP was inspired by the hit TV show Seinfeld. In season 9, episode 23 & 24 'the gang' is arrested for not helping someone in need during a brief stop in Massachusetts. In the show there is the newly introduced law 'The Good Samaritan Law' which requires bystanders to help out in such situations.
The Meaning
Ideology behind 'The Good Samaritan'
'Good Samaritan' is a label often used to describe someone acting selflessly to benefit others, even if a total stranger. The phrase has its origin in a biblical story from the Book of Luke, Chapter 10. A Samaritan traveler happens upon a man robbed and beaten. While others passed by, the Samaritan gives first aid, transports him to an inn, and pays for all his care.
